Simple White Wedding Cake

I was approached by an old co-worker to create a wedding cake for her daughter's wedding ceremony. But not what you normally would think of when designing a wedding cake: this cake was to be for photo-ops! The bride and groom chose to serve cupcakes to their guests, a growing trend these days. However, they wanted to still have a cake to cut together so the bride's mother came to me. Together we came up with this simple and elegant design of a small 5 inch white square cake with clusters of pearls on all four sides. They requested that there be no topper (I'm assuming that they added their own at the reception). I've asked for some photos of the bride and groom cutting the cake so if I get them, I'll post! :)

"Cute as a Button" Baby Shower Cake

Surprise! Last week I surprised my sister-in-law, LeAnn, with a baby shower for her first daughter! The theme: Cute as a Button...buttons everywhere! Even on the cake. We're looking forward to our new niece!

Zebra Print w/ Pink Bow

I not only learned a couple new tricks while making this cake but I got to experiment with a new recipe combination: dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting.  All made from scratch of course! :) Cake was a hit and went fast!

Fancy Tuxedo Birthday Cake

It's been a while since I have posted anything, let alone made anything but I hope that will change soon. I have an itch to experiment with some recipes and techniques! I started with a new vanilla cake recipe that I think is super moist and flavorful....yuuummm!!! A friend's daughter asked me to make a tuxedo cake for her boyfriend's 23rd birthday (she must be throwing him some fancy shindig of a party! lol). "Happy Birthday, Chris!"

Summer Birthday Cakes

Summer is a busy time for my family for birthdays and sometimes we do joint birthday parties just because there are so many! This year for my nieces' 7th and 8th birthdays, they had a beach themed party. So I topped it off with a beachy cake!

Also, I had the opportunity to do a Baymax cake! For those of you who don't know who that is, he is the big cuddly white blob (I think he is a robot, lol) from the movie, Big Hero 6!

My first Craft Fair!

Over the Hill -Jeramy's 40th Birthday

My brother-in-law is turning 40 and to celebrate we're having a...funeral? Well, not really, but you get my drift. My sister is throwing him an over the hill bash and a coffin cake was in order... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JER!!

Cheery Cherry Chip Cupcakes

A requested order for cherry chip cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles...I added the little fondant cherries to dress them up a bit more as well as flavored the frosting with left over maraschino cherry juice... Yummy :-)

Custom Made Flower Girl Dresses - Michigan Wolverine colors

I had the pleasure to create these three lil dresses for my dear friend's wedding,  which happened to be themed with football team, Michigan Wolverines. If you have been following me blog then you know that I can sew but this was my first attempt at sewing dresses, and three to boot! Nothing too fancy, just sweet and simple. What do you think?

A "Manly Blanket" for a Manly Man

My finace requested a large blanket "big enough for a MAN! After about 14 skiens and 11 months later (he's very patient and we live in Phoenix so wasn't in a big hurry) I crocheted out a huge king size blanket perfect for lounging around (and cuddling) in. Enjoy Baby!

Reversable Halter Style Apron

I've been wanting to make an apron for long time but have been searching for the perfect pattern to do it with. I found it thanks to Tenth Muse Studios! You can check out the blog at http://www.tenthmusestudios.wordpress.com/. I simply loooove this pattern. It is a reversible apron styled like a halter dress to make you feel fun and flirty in the kitchen. I went straight for the heels the first time I put this on. :)

Yo Gabba Gabba! Cake

Happy Birthday, Tinks! I assembled this three tiered cake featuring characters from this sweetie's favorite children's show.

Zebra Delight Cake

Happy birthday, Sissy!
With the help of my darling 5-year old niece, I whipped this up for my sister, Anna's, birthday. Its just as classy 'n' flashy as she is!

Sophia's Baby Blanket

Made this for my boyfriend's newest little niece, Sophia Juliette...the cutest little thing: Sophia, not the blanket. lol

Grandma's Basket of Flowers cake

My Great-Grandma Dewey's birthday was yesterday. Made this for to enjoy with the family. I haven't done the basketweave on a cake since I learned it in class over a year ago! I'm surprised how quickly it came back to me. I loved it.

Flip Flop Cake

Made this cake for my manager's step-daughter's birthday. Quite possibly one of the easiest cakes I've done so far! I had lot's of fun making this one.

Texas Ranger Star Cake

As much as it pains me to say, my Daddy doesn't care too much for fondant so when it came time for his birthday, it was back to the basics with my frosting tips. Not that I minded lol. Daddy is a big Walker, Texas Ranger fan, I grew up watching reruns too. But there were only so many ways to incorporate that into cake using only buttercream frosting...so here was my interpretation... Happy Birthday Daddy! I love you!

Racecar Track Cake

Made this cake for a Hot Wheels themed birthday party for a 2 year old. The mom later added some cars to the top of the cake.
